Question 1

What types of events do you do?

Accepted Answer

Everyone loves mini golf. We bring it to children's and adult birthdays, holiday parties, picnics, church events, school carnivals, PTO/PTA fairs and festivals, fundraisers, corporate events and more. The axe throwing trailer travels to birthday parties, corporate events, team building days, community events, bachelor and bachelorette parties and private celebrations.

Question 2

Is mini golf appropriate for both kids and adults?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We bring 40 clubs in toddler, child and adult sizes, along with 40 balls, and the obstacles are customizable — fewer obstacles for a young child's birthday party, more difficult ones for a college open house or an employee appreciation event.

Question 3

How many holes are provided?

Accepted Answer

We provide 9 holes, or custom holes upon request, up to 18. Tell us about your space and the layout you have in mind.

Question 4

Are the holes all different from one another?

Accepted Answer

Yes — all 9 holes are unique, and many can be customized with different obstacles to fit your space and your group's skill level.

Question 5

Can we request an attendant to operate the course?

Accepted Answer

A staff member is available on site upon request to supervise and organize the course throughout your event. Please include this in your event request.

Question 6

How long does setup and teardown take?

Accepted Answer

Plan on roughly 45–60 minutes to set up and 45–60 minutes to tear down, depending on access to the space.

Question 7

How large a group can you accommodate?

Accepted Answer

A standard 9-hole setup can accommodate approximately 50 players per hour.

Question 8

Can you set up indoors or outdoors?

Accepted Answer

Both. The course works in gyms, banquet rooms, offices, school spaces, event venues, lawns, driveways, sports courts and other suitable flat surfaces.

Question 9

How much space do we need for the course?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your venue and the configuration you choose. Tell us about your space in the event request and we'll recommend a 9-hole layout or custom holes upon request, up to 18, that fit.

Question 10

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We serve the greater Pittsburgh area and communities throughout West Central Pennsylvania, including Allegheny, Westmoreland, Indiana, Washington, Jefferson, Cambria, Butler, Fayette and Somerset counties. Travel beyond that is possible — just ask.

Question 11

Can I preview your contract?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Contact us and we'll send the rental agreement over before you book.

Question 12

Is tipping required?

Accepted Answer

Tipping is never required. It's always appreciated by the staff running your event, but it is entirely up to you.

Question 13

How does the axe throwing work?

Accepted Answer

We tow the axe throwing trailer directly to your event and our staff runs the lanes. The trailer has lighting, so events can keep going after sunset. We are not a permanent indoor facility — the trailer comes to you.

Question 14

What do I need to know before I throw?

Accepted Answer

You must wear flat, closed-toe shoes and be at least 12 years of age to throw. All guests follow staff instructions on the lanes, and every thrower completes the Steel City Axe waiver.

Question 15

How do we reserve the axe trailer?

Accepted Answer

Send us an event request through this site, or call 724-840-3616. The axe trailer is available by reservation.

Question 16

How is pricing determined?

Accepted Answer

Mini golf packages vary by season, weekday/weekend/holiday, rental length and distance. Package pricing applies within 35 miles of ZIP 15717 and additional fees may apply beyond that radius. Military, veteran and PTO discounts and customized multi-day packages are available. Send us your event details for an exact quote.
